I enjoy living alone to some extent.
I am one of those ‘love my space’ kind of people. Yeah! I know we can be annoying sometimes. On behalf of all of us I apologize, but what can we do?
Anyway, this post is not about us. Its about you who does not find it easy living alone but for some reason find yourself doing that. Who best to dish out ‘advice’ than someone who actually enjoys it?
Let start from the top. It begins with a mindset change.
Truth is, many of us will not live alone forever, I know I won’t. One day, I will have a family of my own and that will be off the table. Also, you probably haven’t lived alone all your life. It is a stage in life and aside the fact that you can fart in peace, living alone has its perks,
Problem is, if you focus some much on the misery of living alone, you will lose sight of all the wonderful advantages that come with it. Aren’t you lucky that you have me to remind you?
#1 YOU GET TO REALLY KNOW YOURSELF
Living alone gives you time to really know yourself. You don’t have to do anything for the benefit of anyone but yourself.
This might sound selfish, but I believe it’s an important step to really get to know the real you. Not the face you put up for the world to see.
Are you a really messy person? Are you organized? Do you enjoy cooking? Do you like to clean up after yourself immediately or do you leave things until later? Do you leave the toilet seat up or down?
When living with someone, it is understandable to always try to put the other person in consideration, so you might do certain things to accommodate the other person. That’s off the table when you live alone.
#2 ENOUGH TIME FOR YOURSELF
There is no one disturbing your little bubble of happiness. Its just you.
That is heaven to some people right now.
Told one of my friends, I just wanted to stay on my own one evening, so I will be putting off my phone, and she laughed. Now that she has a family, those moments are luxurious and far out.
Those quiet moments are treasures. You can fully enjoy lots of peace and quiet. The freedom is amazing.
#3 RANDOM MUSIC BLAST SESSIONS/SILENCE
You live by your own rules.
If you love music, you would know that those random night sessions of singing and dancing are wonderful. Sometimes you feel the music, that you just want to sing out loud and quietly humming along does not cut it.
Sure, its possible when you live with others but in moderation and it depends on the kind of people around you.
Living alone, you don’t need to check if you are disturbing anyone sleeping.
On the other hand, there are moments where you might crave complete silence.
#4 YOU CAN BE PRODUCTIVE/LAZY
The choice is up to you.
You can either spend the day being very productive or you can be lazy.
You can’t really blame your choices on anyone, just you. Anytime you want to wake up, you can.
You don’t have anyone waking you up earlier than you will like to with their noises or requests, neither do you have anyone randomly interrupting those peak moments of productivity.
#5 YOU CAN HOST PEOPLE WHEN YOU WANT
Those times when you decide to be a social butterfly, You can have people over at your place at any time that you so desire.
#6 YOU FIND THINGS EXACTLY WHERE YOU LEAVE THEM
When living alone, you are sure to always come back to find your things the way you left them.
No one is messing around with your things or changing the position of things.
#7 YOUR SPACE, YOUR DECOR
You can choose whatever vibes you want in your space. Minimalistic, modern, chic, whatever you want you can do. Your home space can be a representation of you.
Any decision concerning the decoration is completely up to you.
#8 BUDGET AND SPENDING
When it comes to spending, living alone can help you budget. You will be able to cut down on living expenses such as utility bills, food, etc.
At some point, I believe its good for people to experience living alone. It makes for good character development and helps you become independent. It also makes you appreciate time spent with others and your relationships more.

Until you get comfortable with being alone, you’ll never know if you’re choosing someone out of love or loneliness.– Mandy Hale
Totally on point! The way I love my company, it takes me time to adjust when people are around.
I can imagine. The time spent living alone can be indeed wonderful.
