As I dished out the remains of the delicious Kunun geda I prepared yesterday, it struck me how I had not made it before.
I had eaten it a few times when I lived back home with my parents. My dad liked it, so it was one of those meals he had the ‘experts’ make and bring over to the house.
It was a great breakfast option, and I enjoyed eating it then with Bean cake a.k.a Akara. But up until last weekend, it had never crossed my mind that I too could make it.
Someone posted that it is a good meal for breaking a fast, and I decided that I was going to have it one way or the other.
I went on youtube, found a recipe and then ordered the items needed from the local Asian grocery store.
Not minding that I was already exhausted from work, I prepared a fresh steaming pot of Kunun geda that tasted exactly like the one the ‘experts’ made.
Oh, what Joy!
As I write this, I just realized that the thought of it not coming out well did not cross my mind at any point, but even that would not have stopped me. My desire was far stronger than any preconceived obstacles.
At work today, all I could think of was – Kunun geda waiting for me at home. The day flew by, it was like I was walking on sunshine.
It is one of my proudest accomplishments this week.
So here is me, savouring the last of this delicious Kunun geda. I can’t help thinking that indeed, I can do all things I set my mind to, through Christ that strengthens me.
To commemorate this feat, I decided to write you all a little love letter, first because I am happy.
Next, it is to let you know just incase you are not aware, you have strengths and capabilities that are yet to be tapped into. If you already know, consider this a gentle reminder.
Lastly, if you have not gotten it from reading to this point, it is for you to join me celebrate my Kunun geda making skills.
